TRADE NOTICE

Subject : - Setting up of machinery for redressal of Public Grievances

In supersession of this Commissionerate's Trade Notice No. 324 / 35 / 98 dated 15/07/98, the Public Grievances Redressal Committee is reconstituted for the financial year 2002-2003 as follows:

2. The Committee shall examine all grievance and complaints relating to delay, harassment, difficulties in getting timely and proper assistance from the Central Excise, staff.

3. The Committee shall meet on the last Wednesday of every month at 1500 hrs at the office of the Commissioner, Central Excise Nagpur, except in the months of March, June, September and December when the said meeting will be on the same day when RAC meetings are held. Separate intimation for holding meeting for these months will be given. If Wednesday happens to be a holiday, the meeting will be held on the next working day at the same time.

4. The Committee will examine individual as well as general grievances/ complaints of the assessees/public. The assessees/members of the trade and Industry as well as Public can lodge their grievances/complaints with any of the members .of the Committee, giving full details of the problem being faced by them All the grievances/complaints received by the members should be sent to the Secretary of the Committee at least five days in advance so that agenda for discussion could be kept in readiness. Assessees, members of the Trade and Industry as well as Public can also lodge their complaints/grievances directly to the Secretary of the Committee at the following address :

Grievances/complaints received upto the time of the meeting and even during the meeting will also be included in the agenda points. Even oral complaints/grievances will be taken note by the Committee during the discussion in the meeting. The complaints/grievances brought to the notice of the Committee will be discussed in the meeting and resolved before the due date of the next meeting. The action taken on each grievances/complaint will be informed to each members of the Committee at the time of the next meeting.

(5) The tenure of the Committee will be for Financial year i.e. 2002-2003.

(6) All Trade Associations/Chambers of Commerce are requested to bring the above contents to the notice of their member.
