Sub: Right to Information Act, 2005.

 

                        Right to Information Act, 2005 has come into force from 12th October 2005. To implement the same Chief Commissioner Office, Nagpur zone has issued two public notices P.N. No 1/2005 dated 24.08.2005 and P.N. No 2/2005 dated 6.10.2005.  In terms of Section 5(1) of the Right to Information Act,2005 in Central Excise Commissionerate Nagpur having jurisdiction over eleven districts of  Vidarbha, the CPIOs & ACPIOs appointed  at Commissionerate Hqrs & Division offices are  as per Annexure A to this Public Notice.

2.                     To implement the provisions of the Right to Information Act 2005, a  ‘Right to Information Act 2005 Cell’ has been established at Central Excise hqrs. in the office of the Commissioner of Custom & Central Excise Telangkhedi Road, Civil Lines , Nagpur.

3.                     At Commissionerate Hqrs situated at Central Excise Building, the request for information may be filed on any working day and during the working hours i.e. 9.30 AM to 06.00 PM.

4.                     Section 7 of the Right to Information Act, 2005 deals with the procedure of receipt of request for information and processing thereof. The  request may be made /submitted to this office at Right To Information Cell  Room No. 104 on first floor of Office of  the  Commissioner of Customs & Central Excise, P. Box  No. 81, Telangkhedi Road, Civil Lines, Nagpur – 440 001. The requests submitted should contain the contact details of the applicant, which will enable this office to process the application as per the provisions of the Act.  Public can also contact the ‘Right to Information Act Cell’ located at Room No. 104 on 1st floor of this office,  for the purpose of seeking information.  The contact telephone nos. of the said cell are : 2560798, 2564292 , Ext.No. 264.

4.                     As per Rule 3 of Right to Information ( Regulation of fee and cost) Rules,2005. an application fee of Rs. 10/-  (Ten) by way of cash or demand draft or Bankers Cheque payable to Pay & Accounts Officer is prescribed for seeking information under sub-section (1)  of Section 5 of the act.

                        For information under Sub-section (1) of Section 7 & under sub-section (5) of Section 7 & of the   Right to Information Act,2005 ;  as per rule 4 & 5 Right to Information         ( Regulation of fee and cost) Rules,2005,  the  fee shall be as under :-

     a)      rupees two for each page ( in A-4 or A-3 Size paper) created or copied;

b)      actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper;

c)      actual cost or price for samples or models; and

d)      for inspection of records, no fee for the first hour,; and a fee of rupees five for each fifteen minutes ( or fraction threof) thereafter.

e)      for information provided in diskette or floppy rupees fifty per diskette  or floppy; and

f)        for information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication.

  5.                    The contact details of CPIO, CAPIOs and other information as per subsections (ix), (x), (xi), (xv) & (xvi) of Section 4(1) (b),   has been uploaded on our official website www.cenexcisenagpur.nic.in as per Section 4(3) and Section 4 (4).
