To achieve this, our mission focuses on implementing the government’s economic, taxation, and trade policies in a pragmatic and efficient manner. We aim to improve tax compliance and transparency within the tax administration system. Additionally, we strive to foster trade and industry by providing a business-friendly GST ecosystem and create a climate for voluntary compliance among taxpayers by offering guidance and increasing awareness about GST. Furthermore, we are committed to combating tax evasion and commercial fraud through data analysis tools and a modern, technology-driven approach.

Organizational Structure

In terms of Notification No. 2/2017-Central Tax dated 19th June 2017 issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Excise and Customs, vide F. No. 349/52/2017- GST, the areas falling under the Jurisdiction of Chief Commissioner of Central Tax, Nagpur Zone has been organized into 04 (Four) Central Tax Commissionerates, 02(Two) Central Tax (Audit) Commissionerates and 02(Two) Central Tax (Appeals) Commissionerates.

Jurisdiction and Officers

The Office of the Commissioner (CGST & Central Excise) Appeals, Nagpur Zone works under the Office of the Chief Commissioner (CGST & Central Excise), Nagpur Zone and the Office of the Chief Commissioner (CGST & Central Excise), Nagpur Zone works under Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC).

The Jurisdiction of Commissioner (Appeals), Nagpur covers a wide area in the state of Maharashtra encompassing Nagpur I Commissionerate, Nagpur II Commissionerate and Customs Commissionerate, Nagpur. The jurisdiction of Additional Commissioner (Appeals), Nagpur covers a wide area in the state of Maharashtra encompassing Nagpur I Commissionerate and Nagpur II Commissionerate.

a. JURISDICTION OF NAGPUR I COMMISSIONERATE

Districts of Nagpur (Rural & Urban),Hingna, Kamptee, Umrer and Kuhi, Bhiwapur, Wardha,Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli

b. JURISDICTION OF NAGPUR II COMMISSIONERATE

Comprises of districts of Nagpur (Rural & Urban), Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana, Washim.

c. JURISDICTION OF CUSTOMS COMMISSIONERATE

The districts of Nagpur, Nashik, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Amravati, Yavatmal, Akola, Washim, Buldhana, Wardha, Osmanabad, Beed, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur, GadChiroli, Aurangabad, Jalna, Hingoli, Latur, Nanded and Parbhani in the State of Maharashtra.
